Our Message

Thank you for visiting our Heroes 4 Heroes page! We are all so very excited to be running the Pittsburgh Marathon to help support the Hero Program. This is a non-profit organization that has touched the hearts of all of us at Bruster's Real Ice Cream. At Bruster's we feel we have an outlet, opportunity and responsiblilty to give back to our community and partnering with a non profit organization is the perfect way to do that. The Hero Program supports families with terminally ill children with things that insurance simply does not cover. Imagine being told the medication, medical procedure or simple daily requirement your child needs are not covered by your insurance. To date, the Hero program has provided support to the families they work with to help provide in home hospital beds, medical co-pay assistance, travel exepenses for experimental medical treatments, automobiles and addititional support with daily and medical related expenses. At Bruster's, we have had the privilegde of meeting most of the hero families. These children and parents are truly an inspiration. We have never heard them complain about their circumstances, they see every day as a blessing and a miracle. It is an honor to be a part of their lives. Please help us help them! We are determined to reach our collective team goal of $7500. We are thrilled to imagine the benefit that would give to these very special children.
